Latisse Usage for Longer Eyelashes

Since the material used in Latisse increases the pressure inside the eyes (intraocular pressure), in the case of using IOP-lowering or glaucoma medicines, you’d better ask your physician to control your intraocular pressure before the Latisse testing.

1- Before using Bimatoprost, wash your face and don’t use contact lenses.

2- To use Bimatoprost, you should apply this serum on the eyelashes on your upper eyelid using a sterile instrument every night. This serum is transmitted to the lower eyelash line by blinking.

3- Never use the serum directly for the lower eyelid.

4- After each use, throw away the applicator and use a new one the next time.

5- Double use of an applicator can cause eye infection or allergic reactions.

6- After using Latisse, clean the skin around your eyelids and those parts that might have been in contact with Latisse because it might cause hair growth in other parts of your face.

Besides eyelash growth, Latisse can cause the growth of the eyebrows. Although Latisse has no FDA permission for the treatment of sparse eyebrows, some studies have indicated the effectiveness of this product for the growth of eyebrows.

A study in 2016, which was conducted on 357 men and women with eyebrow hair loss, shows that the subjects used Latisse once or twice a day for 7 months. At the end of the study period, both groups of the subject using Latisse had experienced significant growth of their eyebrow hair with slight differences. The majority of the participants reported the observation of the difference after the second month of using the product.

Furthermore, Bimatoprost causes the darkening of the hair. So, if you want to use Latisse for your eyebrows, take this feature into account.

Also, if you tend to use Latisse, don’t forget to consult with your physician and ask him to examine the reason for the loss and inadequacy of your eyebrow hair and provide suitable solutions for you.

Results of Latisse begin to appear after 12-16 weeks. The results of Latisse can vary for different individuals. Such differences in the results may affect the length, thickness, pigments, and number of eyelashes. After 3-4 months, your physician might recommend you to use Latisse once every two days.

If you stop using Latisse, your eyelashes will return to their previous appearance after a few weeks up to a few months.

Normally, the people using this serum have reported the following results after 16 weeks:

– 25% increase in length of the eyelashes

– 106% increase in thickness and density of the eyelashes

– 18% increase in darkness of the eyelashes

According to the reports, the use of Latisse will lead to the following side-effects among 3-4% of the users:

• Redness or irritation of eyes
• Darkening of the eyelid skin
• Change in the color of the iris
• Eye dryness
• Eye itching

The average cost of a bottle of Bimatoprost is about 224 dollars, which is enough for a month. It might seem quite an expensive product, yet it works effectively in stimulating the growth of eyelashes.

In the end, you must know that using Latisse will have no permanent outcome or result; therefore, before using this product, you’d better check other methods as well and select this method based on the recommendation of your physician.
