A surgical facelift is used for deep skin damages in which non-surgical methods are not helpful.

It is more extensive compared with the other facelift approaches in Iran; thus, it requires more recovery time and provides more impressive outcomes. In this method, an incision is made in the hairline near the temples which continues to the back of the ears. Then, the excess skin and fat are removed. The subcutaneous muscles and tissues are moved to the appropriate place and tightened.

Mini Face Lift is also known as the weekend lift or limited-incision facelift and is suitable for patients in their late 30s or 40s who want to rejuvenate the loose skin in the middle and inferior part of their faces. The incision is shorter in this procedure compared with the traditional facelift. Also, the duration of this procedure is shorter (2 hours) and thus, the patient recovery period is shorter in this procedure.

Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS) Lift is focused on the inferior two-thirds of the face and is less invasive compared with the traditional facelift. It is performed on the skin’s superficial muscles. The incision is made in the temple area and is extended to the inferior post auricular area. Then, the muscles are placed in the appropriate position.

Ponytail Facelift is suitable for young people under 50 with gaining signs. This procedure is minimally invasive and done under local anesthesia and takes approximately one hour. This procedure involves small incisions exactly along the hairline and the skin is stretched from that area.

An endoscopic facelift is suitable for you if your wrinkles are present in only one part of the face. This procedure, unlike others, is a closed operation. In fact, this procedure involves very tiny incisions that will not leave scars. Based on the target lifting area, incisions are made intraoral, above the ears, above the hairlines, and under the eyelids.

This procedure is very effective for cheek lifting, removing smile lines, and improving the sagging jawline. Incisions are made in the temporal area and the skin is pulled upwards rather than laterally.

Deep Plane Facelift is done on the facial deep tissue. Thus, contrary to the other procedures, abnormal stretch marks will not be seen on the facial skin. The cheeks return to the previous position and the lip angle sagging disappears. Since the deep inelastic skin tissue is repaired in this procedure, the outcome has a long durably of more than 10 years. This procedure takes 1.5 to 2 hours.

• Photographs will be taken of your face from different angles.

Recovery is not required in the non-surgical methods and the outcomes will be evident when the swelling subsides, though the following is expected in the surgical procedures:

The first week after Facelift:

• Patients who have undergone surgery usually return to their normal life in one or two weeks.
• Discomfort, pain and skin tightness disappears at the end of the first week.

The second week after Facelift:

• Reduced swelling and bruising
• Suture removal in case of wound healing.
• Starting normal activities and light works

You are allowed to do all normal daily activities in the third week.

The healing process is completed to a great extent in the fourth week and the swelling and bruising have disappeared. The incision area will be erythematous and uneven for some months after the procedure (at least 6 months) which will become smooth and pale within 6 to 12 months.

• It takes about 6 months to see the final outcome when the face fits into its new form.
• The result of the procedure is not permanent since the process of aging cannot be stopped. Face skin will sag again as the skin ages, though the lift outcomes are expected to last 5 to 10 years.
• Depending on your skin’s condition, it is possible that the desired outcome is not achieved in the first operation and you may need more operations.
• It is important to maintain your weight to prevent skin sagging.
• Skincare and a healthy lifestyle may prolong the facelift outcomes.
