Gynecomastia Surgery in Iran

The enlargement or swelling of breasts in men, clinically known as Gynecomastia, is a common medical condition that affects approximately 60% of all men during their lifetime.

There are various degrees of this condition, and some cases of gynecomastia are very prominent and even resemble female breasts. This problem can occur in only one breast, or both breasts simultaneously. Some men also experience breast tenderness in addition to enlargement.

There are 2 options available for a Gynecomastia Surgery:

Liposuction-Assisted Gynecomastia Surgery eliminates fatty tissue in the breast but does not remove breast tissue. If the surgery is just liposuction in Iran, it is usually an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia and involves 2 small incisions (1 on either side of the chest).

Liposuction-Assisted Gynecomastia Surgery Involves 3 Main Steps:

• Separating fat cells from the breast tissue allows easier removal.
• Extracting fat cells from the body, or eliminating them.
• Spreading out a smooth layer of fat. A thin layer of fat is spread out in order to create an even and more natural appearance.

Thus, it yields very decent results in terms of appearance and causes the least amount of discomfort and inconvenience for the patient. Furthermore, the recovery phase is very short.

It is recommended to remove the breast tissue when the breast has developed glandular tissue, or if the patient has enlargement in their breasts.

In general, gynecomastia surgery is incredibly safe, and most patients experience a normal recovery. However, despite the patient and surgeon’s great attention to safety, complications may still occur. These complications might include:

• Bleeding within the breast tissue (hematoma), usually occurs in the first 24 hours after surgery.
• Development of a tissue mass, bruising or swelling.

• Infection

Immediately after the Gynecomastia Surgery, the patient’s chest is bandaged and compressed with a bandage that will remain in place for approximately 3 weeks.

They may experience pain for a few days, but the pain is usually mild. Wearing a compact vest, and using ice also helps control the pain, reduce swelling, and limit bruising.

In patients who only need liposuction, the return to their usual exercise and work routine is often possible in less than a week after their surgery. For patients who need surgical removal of extra breast tissue, the recovery phase lasts approximately 2 to 4 weeks in order for them to be able to tolerate normal activities.

• • You should wear a stretch bra around the clock for 1 to 2 weeks after undergoing Gynecomastia Surgery in Iran.
  • The period of time for having a dressing in place depends on how quickly the wounds heal. After 1 to 2 weeks, the stitches dissolve or are removed.
  • You must avoid stretching movements, doing strenuous exercise, and lifting weights for approximately 3 weeks after your surgery. It will take around 6 weeks for you to be able to fully return to your routine physical activities.
  • You can drive after a few weeks of surgery, and when wearing a seat belt no longer causes pain.
  • It may take up to 6 months to obtain full results.

Tissue removed through Gynecomastia Surgery will not come back without cause, therefore, this is a permanent surgery.
