Breast Lift in Iran

According to International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), the breast lift  was found to be  the 6th popular cosmetic surgery  in the World in 2018 (710,014 surgeries) .

Our skin loses its elasticity as the years go by. This aging process can be observed not only on the face but also in the chest area. Particularly after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss, sagginess in the breasts occur.

Breast lift also referred to as Mastopexy, is a cosmetic procedure carried out by a plastic surgeon with the objective of changing the shape of a patient’s breasts. Mastopexy refers to the reshaping of the breasts, without reducing or increasing their volume. In a breast lift, excess skin is removed, and breast tissue is repaired in order to lift the breasts. The final result is less sagginess and better-shaped breasts.

If the breast volume is too small or large, a breast augmentation in Iran or breast reduction in Iran may be recommended in addition to a lift.

During the initial consultation with your physician, you will have the opportunity to talk to your surgeon about what your intentions are.

A surgeon in Iran will examine, measure, and photograph your breasts in order to obtain a full medical record. Necessary preliminary examinations are carried out at least one day before hospitalization.

The factors that are examined before undergoing Mastopexy in Iran are:

• The examination is carried out by a surgeon (visual identification regarding the nature of the problem).
• Pre-operative examinations (including mammography & general clinical examinations).
• Determining the best surgical methods.
• Family history of having breast cancer.
• Allergies and current medications.
• Previous surgeries, including having a breast biopsy.

• Breast Lift is carried out under general anesthesia, or by prescribing intravenous sedatives in a hospital, or surgeon’s office which is equipped with a surgical suite.
• A breast Lift may take between 1 to 3 hours to complete. surgeons utilize various incision methods for breast lift in Iran.
• The exact method varies based on the patient’s existing breast tissue, the amount of extra skin, and the patient’s personal goals.
• Your cosmetic surgeon will recommend the type of breast lift that will help you achieve the desired results with the least amount of visible scars.
• Before surgery, the locations of the incisions are usually determined on the skin in a sitting or standing position, and the new locations of the nipples are marked on the skin.

This method involves removing a ring of skin from around the nipple. An incision will be made around the nipple. This method is especially suitable when the extra skin is not much, and the breasts only require a slight amount of modification.

In this procedure, part of the extra skin under the nipples is removed. This leads to better protrusion of the nipples and is therefore also suitable for sagging breasts with more extra skin. The skin under the nipple is then tightened, creating an extra twisted vertical wound under the nipple.

In this breast lift method, excess skin is completely removed. To do so, a horizontal cut is made in the crease under the breast in order to create an inverted T-shaped incision.

While the anchor lift leaves behind some visible scars, with proper care, they fade significantly and are easily concealed by a bikini. This method yields the best results for very saggy breasts with a lot of excess skin.

With all of these breast lift procedures, the extra skin is removed and the nipple usually moves upwards. The nipples and Areolas are attach to the underlying tissue, which usually maintains feeling and the ability to breastfeed.

The surgeon then inserts tubes through which blood and secretions of the wound are drained, and the skin is sutured using special sutures. This initially causes scars that clear up after a few months due to the natural shrinkage of the skin.

Finally, the patient’s bosom is bandaged using a bandage or a special bra that holds and keeps the breasts firm. This will reduce any inflation.

Breast lifts that are performed on smaller breasts usually yield more long-lasting results compared to large heavy breasts.

Every surgery has its own risks. The risks regarding a breast lift can be minimized if the breast lift is carried out by a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon in Iran.

Even with the utmost care, as with any surgical procedure, occasional complications may occur during, or after a breast lift. The potential risks of a breast lift include:

• Risks related to anesthesia.
• Hematoma or seroma (accumulation of blood or fluid under the skin that may need to be surgically removed).
• Infection
• Poor healing of incisions.
• Changes in feeling in the nipples.
• Irregularity or asymmetry in the shape and size of the breasts.
• Loss of deep subcutaneous adipose tissue (fat necrosis).
• Partial or total loss of the nipple or areola.
• Difficulty in breastfeeding.
• Cardiopulmonary Complications
• Allergic Reactions
• Damage to the underlying tissues.

• Rest as much as possible for the first week after a breast lift, and then gradually increase your physical activities over the next few weeks.
• Sometimes, you find that your feeling is less in the nipple and areola areas. This is temporary. However, it may take weeks, months, or even over a year for the feeling to return to its normal state.
• Avoid raising your arms over your head for 2 weeks. Do NOT do any strenuous exercise, or lift your body for 6 weeks.
• After 2 weeks, having long walks on a flat surface is allowed. Do NOT do any other type of exercise. Any activity that raises your blood pressure will adversely affect the healing of the wounds.
• Avoid lying on your stomach for 2 weeks. For a comfortable sleep, place 2 pillows under your back, a pillow under each arm, and a pillow under your knees.
• Taking a shower is usually allowed 72 hours after the breast lift in Iran. Avoid having baths and going to a sauna for 2 to 3 weeks.
• After four weeks, you can start doing light exercises, such as aerobics. However, you MUST avoid weight training.

The results of your breast lift are immediately noticeable. Over time, the swelling goes away, and the scars fade.

The final results of the breast lift will be observed over the next few months as the shape and position of the breasts are fixed.

Breast lift results may not be permanent. As you age, your skin naturally becomes less elastic, and there may be some amount of sagging, particularly if you have larger, heavier breasts.

Maintaining a stable and healthy weight can help you maintain the achieved results.

In some cases, a breast lift, alone may not bring about the desired results. If you feel as though your breasts have lost their volume due to aging, weight loss, or pregnancy, your surgeon may also insert implants during the breast lift in order to enlarge and enhance the shape of your breasts.
